The program offers legal assistance to journalists envolved in trials related to their jobs. Assistance is offered as part of a regional program coordinated by the International Federation of Journalists and financed by the European Comission.
In Romania the program is operated through a partnership that includes CIJ, The Society of Romanian Journalists (SZR) and the media Monitoring Agency of "Academia Catavencu". Assistance can include: preparing a defense, without emphasising the defense of the journalists in court.
