CIJ is part of the Southeast European Network for Professionalization of Media (SEE NPM), a network made up of 17 media institutes and training centers for journalists in 10 Balkan countries. The network organizes training courses for journalists and journalism educators. It also supports the exchange of information and media products between the member countries. Still in its first year, over 30 Romanian journalists have attended SEE NPM network activities. Ioana Avadani, the CIJ executive director, is a member of the Coordinating Comitee of SEE NPM. The network is sponsored by the Danish government (through the FRESTA initiative), the Swiss government and the Open Society Institute, based in Budapest, Hungary.
